Haven Ministry is no ordinary homeless shelter. Our passion is giving people a better life and we are committed to that. When staying at Haven Ministry, residents will feel like part of our family. We make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible and ransitional services, including classes about sustainible living are made available. Our staff truly cares about our clients at and give the individuals and families the tools they need to develop long-term solutions with lasting success.
Haven Ministry creates a strong safety net for residents of the Snyder, Union and Nothumberland counties by providing a broad continuum of services which begins with basic shelter. Once crisis needs are met, programs are offered to foster self-sufficiency. We have helped over 4500 individuals since we opened our doors in 1991.
We do our best to help the community we love and are a part of. In these tough economic times the need for food continues to rise and many who have traditionally been self-sufficient, have suddenly found themselves seeking assistance for basic needs such as food baskets, or hot meals. At Haven, we provide food not only to our clients but we also serve as an emergency food pantry to families and individulas who are referred to us. In 2015 we provided food to 769 adults and 739 children.
